Google VP of Hardware Engineering for wearables

Google said a while back in 2018 that it wouldn’t be releasing a new smartwatch anytime soon, but it seems that the tech giant is focusing on wearables.

According to new reports, Google is looking for a new VP of Hardware Engineering for the Wearables department, and the job listing shows the need for someone who will be responsible for developing new wearable products for Google in the coming years.

This doesn’t confirm google will be launching the Pixel Watch anytime soon, but it shows google intentions for the future and supports the latest rumors about WearOS devices under Google brand.

The job listing says

“As the VP of Hardware Engineering for Wearables, you’ll work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership team for Google Hardware and will be responsible for the design, development, and shipment of all Google’s Wearable products. You will lead and enable the effectiveness of a large engineering organization primarily based in Mountain View to develop multiple next-generation wearable products simultaneously.”
